You can step back in time and enjoy the ambiance created by the many heritage touches. The lamps, wallpaper, sitting chairs, and even the old steam radiators installed by J. Fred Hume, evoke the early pioneering days of Nelson. Nearly all the beds in the hotel are queen-sized with the exception of a few double beds. The rooms are also friendly to the environment. Low-volume showerheads have been installed, as have low-energy light bulbs and low-flow toilets. These touches have helped earn the Hume Hotel BC Hydro's Green Hotel Plus award for outstanding achievement in energy efficiency. Each room is equipped with modern amenities such as wireless high-speed internet service, direct dial phones, televisions, and as we've been told, very comfortable beds. We also provide a complimentary breakfast in the General Store Restaurant for our overnight guests and offer full evening room service for those who prefer an intimate meal. At the Hume Hotel, no two rooms are exactly the same but here is a general outline of the different types of rooms that we offer:

Standard Room w/ 1 bed - one bed with desk, chair, private bath, phone and cable t.v.

Standard Room w/ 2 beds - two beds with desk, chair, private bath, phone and cable t.v.

Corner Room - more spacious rooms with two beds, pull-out sofa, desk, chair, private bath, phone and cable t.v.

333 - a spacious room with 3 beds, desk, chair, private bath, phone and cable t.v.

Rapunzel Room – this fourth floor corner room is very spacious and features rapunzel windows that open up to a spectacular panoramic view of the city, lake and mountains – consists of 2 queen beds, a pull-out sofa and fridge

Suite - a charming room complete with one bed in a separate bedroom, one pull-out sofa, living room, kitchen, hardwood floors, desk, chair, private bath, phone and cable t.v.
