Our Deluxe 4th Floor Rooms opened up in 2012. We have incorporated new technology and modern amenities while maintaining the heritage charm that the Hume Hotel is known for. All rooms feature air conditioning and heat control, granite counter tops, flat screen TVs, fridges, irons and ironing boards. They also feature brand new beds, linens, furniture and bathrooms including a superior amenity package.
All artwork was graciously donated by Touchstones Museum & Art Gallery. The photos depict Nelson people and places from the turn-of-the-century, each with a unique story to tell.
Local designer, David Dobie, worked closely with local tradesmen to achieve a timeless look that offers class and comfort during your stay in Nelson.
The Rapunzel Room is one of our most unique rooms offering hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings and a million dollar view of the city, lake and mountains. It is aptly named after the large rapunzel windows that adorn the corner of Vernon & Ward street.
Our other most prized guest room is the newly named Horace D. Hume Suite - named after the brother of J.Fred Hume who stood beside J. Fred throughout the construction and day-to-day operation of the hotel starting in 1898 when the grand old dame of Nelson was born. The Suite offers one bedroom apartment-style accommodations complete with a king bedroom, a pull-out sofa and living room area, electric fireplace and fully furnished kitchen.
